KeySource Medical, Inc. launches Vet-Focused CSOS Ordering System
KeySource Medical, Inc. (KMI) launched a veterinary-focused Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS). Current and future DEA regulations in healthcare are affecting veterinarians and have increased their awareness of legal issues surrounding the handling of controlled substances. KMI intends to partner with veterinary distribution companies and veterinarians to offer this DEA approved, state-of-the-art solution for ordering Schedule 2 controlled substances. The KMI CSOS Program requires no software or hardware installations, it is completely Web-based. Set-up is quick and easy and only requires a digital certificate supplied by the DEA and a computer running JAVA version 1.6 or higher. CSOS allows the veterinarian to order Schedule 2 products online, bypassing the need to fill out DEA Form 222. Once vets register through the DEA Web portal and receive a CSOS certificate, the C-II ordering process is done electronically. This eliminates reporting errors, improves turn around and saves time. KMI only purchases product directly from FDA approved manufacturers. It does not purchase product from secondary wholesalers or other secondary sources. KMI also maintains a pharmacist on staff to ensure quality compliance.
