Publisher’s Letter
The Complete Package
Having spent a lot of time in sales, and having had the pleasure of riding with and working with some of the best sales reps in both the healthcare and animal health industries, I’ve noticed a number of common traits present in top performing sales reps. They have a strong work ethic, yet know how to have fun. They understand how to build meaningful relationships with their customers, as well as their teammates. They have a passion for their business that is easy to see. They differentiate themselves in a way that really gets the customer’s attention. They also understand their market, as well as the products they are selling.
Our mission at Vet-Advantage is to provide you with resources that help you stay ahead, build your skills, inspire you and teach you to perform at a higher level. Certainly the printed magazine is one of our resources, but we have also added a number of other products that we believe can be equally effective in helping you compete for and win business. The electronic supplement of the publication, which is printed in months we don’t publish a magazine, launched this past May. In it you will find a format similar to the magazine, with five or six short, easy-to-read articles designed to keep you informed on trends, products and sales. You can sign up to have it sent to you as a PDF or you can come to our Web site to read it. Simply go to www.vet-advantage.com and click on the electronic supplements button.
In June, we launched The Advantage Weekly News, an email newsletter designed to be a quick and easy read which will help you keep up with the industry’s top stories, new product introductions, promotions, people news and Web events. Our belief is reps should be the first to know, not the last. It is sent out every Tuesday, and is also available on the Web site. To sign up, go to the Web site and click on the news link and you’ll be able to see the archive of the news, current news and a place to sign up for the service.
And last, podcasts can be downloaded from iTunes or from our Web site. The first podcast will feature us interviewing Brian Sullivan, author of “Twenty Days to the Top” and a well-known talk show host of the Entrepreneur Hour in Kansas City. Next up is Mike Muetzel, author of “Unlock the Mysteries” who will be followed in September by a well-know industry expert.
We hope that Vet-Advantage Magazine, along with the electronic supplements, The Advantage Weekly News, the Web site and podcasts will become resources you use on a regular basis to improve your skills and help drive the industry forward while strengthening its sense of community.
